Watch Incredible Teamwork & Draw a picture of you helping someone out.

Watch Communicate Assertive Video and write about whether you are a passive, assertive, or aggressive communicator and how you can improve your communication skills to be more assertive.

Watch the clip from Inside Out and write a couple sentences about how Sadness was better able to help Bing Bong when he was upset

Watch Kid President's Advice on Disagreeing with People & decide for yourself which of his ideas you agree with.  Then try it out!

Week of:  December 14- December 18, 2020

Watch The Joy of Giving & Write about a time

you felt good when you were giving.

Watch The Most Generous Boy in the World &

write 2-3 sentences about what you

think generosity means.  

Complete the 4 Gs Worksheet on Generosity,

Gratitude, Giving, & Growth.

Week of:  December 7- December 11, 2020

Listen to Mindset of a Champion.  Write about the areas

you may have a fixed mindset.  Do you think you can work

on making it a growth mindset instead? 

Try using the word YET !!

Watch Fox and Mouse.  Write 1-2 sentences

about how Fox & Mouse both did something


Watch Pip.  Write 1-2 sentences about how

Pip was able to be successful. Does he have a

growth or fixed mindset?

Watch TED talk on Empathy & make a video or

written journal about your thoughts on the

message of the video.

Watch Different & Complete the Venn Diagram Worksheet. 

Compare Yourself to A Friend or Family Member.

Experiment with saying positive statements

as much as possible for 1 hour and

see what happens.  Then try for 2 or more

If you have a microscope- Try out the water experiment

that Jackson described in the How Words Affect Us

video and see what happens!

Week of: October 26 - October 30, 2020

1. Listen to Lucas the Spider & Brave Ninja.

Then, choose a character or creature that

people are usually scared of & write from

their perspective how it feels for them to

 have people be frightened of them!

2. Use the character sheet to

draw how you feel about Halloween this year. 

If you are not or do not celebrate

Halloween, draw a character about

what you look like & what you say when you feel silly.

3. Create emojis using

the Halloween characters

2. Create your own Diversity Superhero & write a story about how he/she celebrates our differences. Share on

3. Listen to I Am Enough & draw a picture or write a list of what makes you amazing! Then make another list or drawing of  how a friend or someone you care about

is amazing!

Week of: September 21 - September 25, 2020

1. Practice your Balloon Breath or

Candle Breath as much as you can!

2. Write an introduction for yourself. 

Use as many positive words & exampes as you can! 

Write it down or take a video.

3.Try to making the letters of your

name with your body. Take a video and send to

4. Use your imagination & practice visualizing-

eating a favorite food, playing a favorite game,

talking to a favorite person, etc.

Week of:  March 8, 2021- March 12, 2021

Watch Funny Conflict Management video and write about what makes this video funny.

Watch video on Handling Everyday Conflicts and think about how you handle conflicts and if you can come with steps to help you resolve them more peacefully

Watch Ted x Talk about Conflict and write about conflicts that have come up for you in school and how you were able to resolve them.

Watch video on Conflict Resolution and come up with your list of 4 steps for resolving conflicts.

Watch Conflict to Resolution, How to Deal with Conflict, and How Do You Resolve Conflict

Watch For the Birds and the other animated clip. Watch how the animals talk without using words. Complete the worksheet about how you communicate

Watch a Guide to effective Communication write a set of 3 rules you think can help you communicate better.

Watch The Art of Communication & Non-Verbal Communication. Watch yourself throughout the day to see how you listen to others and how you communicate.

Listen to Practicing Gratitude & Kid President's 25 Reasons to be Grateful.  Draw a picture, make a list, or create a video naming as many things as you can that you are grateful for.  Be Creative!! 

Watch The Present and think of something you feel negative about and see if you can find a reason to be grateful about it.

Week of: November 2 - November 6, 2020

between People.  See if you can come with

reasons why it is important to respect differences.

1. Draw a picture of yourself feeling happy-

write words to describe what it looks

like on your face and how it feels in your body.

2. Watch Why Do We Have Feelings &

write 1-3 sentences about why you think

people have feelings.

3. Make a video of yourself feeling happy,

sad, mad, and tired. 

Go back and watch the video and

tell someone how it looks on your face &

what it feels like in your body when

you feel those emotions.

Week of: September 28 - October 2, 2020

1. Practice your Snake Breath as much as you can!

2. Create your own animal breath! Make a video

and send to Ms Chacko if you want:

3. Listen to Super Power Listening &

Practice listening to the sounds around you

throughout the day.  Write a list of the sounds you heard.

4. Watch the Active Listening Video &

Practice it while talking to others throughout the

day & week Write your top 3 rules for

being a good listener

Week of: September 14 - September 18, 2020

1. Practice Balloon Breath as much as you can. 

Teach someone else how to do it & practice together

2. Watch The Reflection video.  Make a list of things you

like about yourself.  Make it as long as possible! 

If you have trouble, ask someone else what they

like about you!  Then go stand in the mirror and

tell your reflection all the things you like about yourself!

You are showing yourself respect!

3. Watch Build Your Tree & create your own list

 of things about yourself- things you like & things

you want to improve. Pick one item from what you

like & tell me more about it.  Pick one item from

the things to improve & tell me how you want to

improve it. Use the graphic organizer to help you.

4. Make a list of 5 things you can do to show

yourself that you are important. Show someone

in your house your list & then do one of them!

5. Create your own superhero yoga pose

like mountain pose & take a picture and send

to Ms. Chacko if you want- mchacko@houstonisd.org
